The Rolling Stones are a legendary British rock band. Formed in 1962, the group is headed by Mick Jagger. Other active members of the band are Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts. Former members of the band include Ian Stewart, Brian Jones, Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman.
The Rolling Stones have been going strong recording and touring for more than half a century and show no signs of stopping. Although the group has been around for 50 years plus, they are a firm presence in modern culture. They're going to be part of the next Guitar Hero music lineup, for one. Guitar Hero rhythm games were first introduced to the world back in 2005. They're now coming out with a new edition after five years of inactivity. The Rolling Stones aren't the only famed musical act slated to appear in the upcoming Guitar Hero. Other acts that are expected to be on the game are Ed Sheeran, Skrillex, Fall Out Boy, The Black Keys, My Chemical Romance, Green Day and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
That isn't all that's current in the exciting world of the Rolling Stones, either. The group's legendary hit "Satisfaction" is going to be re-released to honor it having come out an impressive 50 years ago. Music fans who want to hear Satisfaction in all of its retro glory can purchase it on 12 inch vinyl in June. The tune first came out on June 8, 1965 and was responsible for the band's first #1 record in the United States. Satisfaction soared to number one in early July, pushing "Mr Tambourine Man" by The Byrds out of its lofty position. The week after, Satisfaction reached number one on Cashbox and Billboard alike.
"The Under West Assistant West Coast Promotion Man" was Satisfaction's b-side. This track had a scathing attitude toward the United States' music industry. It was written with George Sherlock in mind. Sherlock worked for London Records and joined the band on their initial tour of the United States.
The Rolling Stones are also extremely busy on social media, a lot like music groups that are decades and decades younger than them. They have an official Twitter account and regularly make postings and answer questions. They even sometimes hold Twitter "Q&A" (Questions and Answers) sessions for all of their devoted fans and Twitter followers. They're active on Facebook, as well.
The Rolling Stones have upcoming tour dates in select locations all across the United States and Canada. The shows kick off on May 24th at San Diego's Petco Park. They have dates scheduled for cities such as Columbus, Ohio, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dallas, Texas, Atlanta, Georgia, Orlando, Florida, Nashville, Tennessee and Buffalo, New York, to name a few standout examples. The North American shows end on July 15th in Quebec, Canada. Tickets for the tour can be purchased here. The unstoppable show business legends are sure to be back soon with more tones and live performances, however. There honestly looks to be no end to the musical successes and achievements of the world famous Rolling Stones.
