After the success of the Beatles in Britain from 1962 there were a number of great bands that came onto the scene in the 60's. They included Gerry & the Pacemakers, the Searchers, the Spencer Davis Group, the Moody Blues and The Monkees.

I have always loved the Doors, and Jimi Hendrix.
Yea I had records of both of them.

I still have some original Jimi vinyl packed away. Couldn't find any Doors though.
The Rolling Stones, but in general, I much preferred solo artists from the 60s than bands.

I loved Pink Floyd and still do. Despite their popularity I never cared for the Beatles. Credence Clearwater Revival was also a favourite - were they from the sixties?
Probably the 'Beatles'. But there were SO many good groups at the time, we were spoilt for choice!
The various groups' songs were different to just rock 'n roll.
'Friday On My Mind', 'The House of the Rising Sun', 'Good Vibrations', etc etc etc.
Those were the days!

I liked the animals


The Atlantics.

Then the Monkees.
